Redneck snowplow?

Well I am not sure if that's what this is, but I saw this at one of the local dumps yesterday and I just had to take a pic of it. This person used half of a bathtub as the blade, a lawnmower body, two broom handles for connecting blade to lawnmower handle and half of a ladder bottom between the broom sticks for sturdiness lol. Now that's an inventive and resourceful redneck!

Quiet weekend...

Well much to my dismay, there were no great treasure finds this past weekend.  I did however use some of my past treasure finds this weekend. One of them being a gas weed eater I had found at one of the share sheds.  It worked perfectly and it was so nice to not have to pull around a darn cord for the electric one we had.  Another wonderful find we had a while back was a self propelled lawnmower. Oh boy, was that a great find. It too worked, needed a screw to hold the handle in place, but that took two seconds to fix.  It just amazes me the things people throw out or give away all because they don't have the time or desire to fix something up. Good for me I suppose...so I say....keep being lazy and don't fix a thing and take it all to the share shed for me!!!

My first share shed profit!

Well last year some time after one of the long weekends, I was out venturing around the share shed circuit and came across some wet suits. The looked like they had been only for that weekend and then dumped! They were not any of our sizes but we figured we could sell them to someone who did fit them. So I sat on them for about a year, and then was going through one of my boxes and found them again. So I took pics of them and put them on CL and boom. Sold two out of the three I found, and this morning I had a request for the third one! Yeah, so excited that I made a profit of my craziness lol. However, I will never become like the crazy lady down the hill that has her WHOLE yard full of crap, and then I heard her house if FULL too. She has "yard sales" during the summer, but NEVER sells anything, cause she just like to hoard it all, and it's all literally JUNK from the dump. I am not sure why she takes the crap stuff, when so often we find stuff that is super great!
Anyhoo....toodles for now...I will off share shedding at some point this weekend!

History

I think I have had this problem of liking cheap, or free stuff right from the beginning. As a child I remember biking down the road a few km to a dump with local kids and picking through stuff we found at the dump. I specifically remember bringing things home to decorate my tree house back then. I even remember furnishing it with some great rugs pieces too lol.
As I got older, and had kids, I was always shopping at thrift stores, making my dollar go further, but really liking it, loving the fact that I was finding some pretty great stuff for next to nothing sometimes, while others were paying a hefty price buying at all brand new.
I am an advid garage saler too, however, since moving here to the Cariboo, I just wait till the day after the garage sale day and go to the share shed, cause now everything the people couldn't sell is usually there at the dump/share shed the next day.
Some of  the finds over the last year being here are as follows:
Perfect runny lawnmowers, and Weedeaters
Printers
Clothes
Shoes
many computer parts
desks
bed frames
dishes
bread maker
steamer
curling iron, and flat irons
tons of building materials
lots of pots for planting flowers
hot tub
motorcycle
bikes
inflatable boat, just needed a patch
and the list goes on and on and on.......however, from now on, the things we find on our weekend share shed adventures I am going to post about and take pics for you all.

Pics of last weekends dump adventures.

Some pics of the crazy things we see along our weekend tours of the dumps and share sheds.
Welcome! This is my local share shed, meaning it's only about 5 min away by car, and I can't imagine how long by foot, cause why on earth would I walk....I may find a treasure and then have to carry it home, or heaven forbid, find a whole trailer!
